This was a surprise trip. Until we got on the last plane Mary didn't know where she was going. Vail was close enough to get back and forth for a long weekend.

Mary by the Two Elks Lodge. Behind her is a rope lift (except it's over flat terrain) that just transports people between the lodge and a lift. This was taken on Wednesday, February 7, a beautiful day.

Anselmo on the Lost Boy run off Wildwoods Mountain.

Mary by the elk statue beside Two Elks Lodge (try to figure out what she's signing with her hands). The lodge is a very large beautiful building. We had lunch there on Friday the 8th, Mary's birthday. At about this time the wind was picking up and it was snowing harder. It got so strong that the skiing was uncomfortable.

Anselmo by the Children's Fountain in the center of Vail.

Street scene in Vail. The look is that of a Swiss village.

A forest of aspens. This was taken on Sunday, our last skiing day, which was beautiful.

Mary in a forest of aspens.

From Lost Boy run. We don't know what this building is, but Mary wants to live there.

Looking down at a lift from a run.

This was a small lift, never with a line, but very slow. We could ski down Flapjack and end up here.

Folks relaxing at Eagle. We had a nice lunch there on our last day of skiing.

Mountain view from Mid Vail. This was taken on Sunday, our last day of skiing.

At Mid Vail.

Not exactly in Vail. The February birthdays party. Helen, Marge and Mary celebrate. Helen is holding the beautiful cake that Liz and Stacey made.
